Editorial Policy and Independence
The PartPass Field Guide maintains strict editorial independence. We do not accept sponsorships, advertising, or paid placements from tooling shops, material suppliers, software vendors, or manufacturing service providers. All content is developed from field experience, peer-reviewed engineering literature, and submissions from our reader community.
Our editorial committee consists of practicing manufacturing engineers and industrial designers who volunteer their time. Committee members are required to disclose any financial relationships with companies whose products or services might be discussed in our guides. A committee member with a disclosed conflict of interest is recused from voting on content that involves that company.
Content is reviewed through a two-stage process. First, a technical editor verifies that all claims are supported by evidence, either from published literature or from documented field experience. Second, the full editorial committee votes on whether the content meets our standards for accuracy, clarity, and generalizability. Only content that passes both stages is published.
We publish corrections promptly and prominently. When an error is identified in any guide or checklist, we issue a correction notice within five business days and update the affected content. All corrections are archived in a public log so that readers can track changes over time. This commitment to transparency is central to our mission of providing trustworthy guidance to the engineering community.
